200 Exchange Street

This job consisted of a full interior demolition and asbestos abatement across four floors (1st–4th) of the former Bank of America Headquarters totaling approximately 250,000 SF. The work included removal of all interior finishes, raised flooring systems, MEPs, and selective structural modifications to prepare the building for a complete redevelopment into modern commercial use.

Our team performed the abatement of asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic throughout the building, followed by full interior demolition. Operating within a dense urban environment, we coordinated logistics, dust control, and safety protocols to maintain continuous operations without disruption to surrounding properties.

Key interior-scope items included:
• ≈ 250,000 SF of mixed ceiling removal
• ≈ 250,000 SF of carpet, VCT, epoxy, and stone flooring removal with floor grinding to smooth concrete finish
• Demolition of 15,000 LF GWB walls, partitions, doors, and frames up to 16 feet high
• Selective masonry wall demolition and casework/counter removal
• Complete removal of raised flooring systems and associated structural supports
• Removal of commercial kitchen equipment, hoods, and ware washers
• Demolition of stairways, dumbwaiter, safes, and high-density shelving systems
• Cutting for new concrete SOD openings
• Removal of structural steel for future stair and MEP openings
• Cleaning of ceilings, MEP, AHU, and generator/switchgear rooms
• Exterior masonry wall openings and vemiculite abatement

On the environmental side, Superior Environmental Services provided full containment and negative-air setup to safely remove asbestos-containing materials in compliance with MassDEP and OSHA standards.
